Festivity of the Verge del Carme (Our Lady of Mount Carmel)
Celebrations in la Savina and Els Pujols.
The festivity of the Verge del Carme (Our Lady of Mount Carmel), patron saint of seamen, is celebrated in the port of la Savina and in Es Pujols.
In la Savina the programme will start on Thursday, July 16th at 6.30 p.m. with the solemn Mass in honour of Our Lady, followed by the traditional marine procession. The programme with end with traditional dances, children's entertainment and music by Perros de la Calle and Músicos del Mar, 4 de Copes and Café Soul.
In Es Pujols the "Festes del Carme" will be celebrated during the weekend. On Saturday 18th, as from 6 pm. there will children's entertainment on the beach and the day's programme will end with the performance by 4 de Copes and Flower Power Beach with DJ Pharma & friends. On Sunday 19th in the morning there will be several sports activities and from 6.30 p.m. a Mass and maritime procession for Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The festivities will continue with the traditional dance of Formentera, rhymers, performance by Aires Formenterencs, fireworks and the performance by Orquestra Trāfic.
