During the summer, every Friday night, there is live music in the square
of the Sant Ferran. This Friday, September 19, there will be a performance
by the Mallorcan jazz singer
Carmen
Jaime.
Carmen Jaime began her musical career in 1990 with a band called LOCAL-8
in Palma. Since then she has performed with several groups, like the Blues
Devils and Funky Time, and she has also sung with great musicians such
as Van Morrison, Raimundo Amador and Víctor Uris.
Most recently, as part of the Clave de Soul band, she has been singing
in almost all the musical halls and clubs in Mallorca, but her exceptional
voice has never been heard in Formentera, therefore "we have invited Carmen
to share with us one of Sant Ferran's music nights", according to Eky,
one of the organisers of the concerts in Sant Ferran and manager of the
Formentera Guitars workshop.
The Mallorcan singer will perform accompanied by musicians from Formentera.
The concert will begin at 10 p.m. and is free, like every Friday.
