Since yesterday, the
Consell d'Eivissa
i Formentera has stopped being the only insular council of the Balearics
without a web page. President Pilar Costa, together with the councillors
Josep Marí Ribas "Agustinet" and Sofía Hernanz, present the
Council's web "that hopes to approach the Council's daily activity to the
public" and to "make the administrative activity more transparent" for
the maximum Pitiusa institution, making it "another tool for communication
and information."
The page is only accessible in Catalan at the moment, although soon
it will be available in Spanish and it is hoped they will have other languages
(in the original plan they intend English, French and German). The Council's
web does not permit administrative steps via Internet yet, but information
can be found how do the most common procedures. According to the secretary
of the Council, Justo García, within a year the procedures will
be available online and they hope the page will become "a doorway towards
e-government).
In the Council's web, you can also consult information about tenders
for public works, public offer for work and information on tourism, such
as Eivissa, World Heritage. The page, that has Flash elements and pictures
by Peridis, has cost 45.075 € (7,500,000 pesetas). The
page was adjudicated to the firm
Ifigenia,
of the group
Terra-Lycos, according
to
El
Mundo. It has been carried out using JSP language and an administration
system of data base Oracle.
