Tradition and fiesta in Sant Ferran
Sant Ferran de Ses Roques is holding around May 30 its patron saint fiestas, very popular throughout the island.

The programme this year started last Sunday with the elaboration of the typical "orelletes" to eat on the Patron Saint's Day, and the festive events will continue on Saturday 25 with different sports activities and folk dancing as part of the "VI Festival Folklòric d'Evissa i Formentera". The performances will start at 5 p.m. in the Port de la Savina, with the Colla Vella Bastoners de Sitges, and will continue in the Plaça de Sant Ferran, with the same dancers and with the folk and cultural group A Subela from Lugo and the Xacoters from Formentera.

On Sunday 26, amongst other events, there will be popular fishing and after the mass at 11.30 a.m. there will be a peasant artisan and gastronomic fair, a special meal and as from 5 p.m. peasant dancing followed by peasant singing.

The Revetlla de Sant Ferran, the evening of Wednesday 29, will include a barbecue and the performances by the group Stock de Rock who will present their new record "Figa de pic", by the group 4 de Copes, who will also present their new record, and by the Orquesta Platino, who will play as from midnight.

Sant Ferran's day, May 30, will start with the Mass followed by the procession, invitation by the Parish and peasant dancing.  here will also be a peasant wine competition and a grand paella. In the afternoon there will be volleyball, 5 a side football, children's games, peasant dancing... and at 8 p.m. in the church a concert by the Coral Polifònica de Formentera. The performance by "D"ender and the Orquesta Pirata, plus a grand firework display will end this year's festivities for Sant Ferran.
