Special Documentary report about Ses Salines form Eivissa and Formentera
The Ministry of Environment of the Insular Council of Eivissa and Formentera has patronised the production of a documentary film that shows the natural, environmental and landscape values of Ses Salines from Eivissa and Formentra during the twelve months of the year 2001.

The documentary, edited in VHS-PAL video format, has ben carried out by Josep M. Bassols with the participation of Jaume Estarellas, biologist and biodiversity technician, Joan Carles Palerm, president of the GEN-GOB, and other Ibizan biologists, such as Cristòfol Guerau d'Arellano and Núria Riera.

The video, which is 30 minutes long, will reach all the schools, libraries and associations of the Pitiüses, with the aim of promoting, among as much as people as possible, the values of this protected area, that has many different ecosystems: ponds, beaches, islets, posidonia fields, dunes, cliffs and growing fields.

Ses Salines in Eivissa and Formentera are protected at present by the National Law of 1995 that declared them a Natural Reserve. On  the other hand, the Balearic Government approved in August 3 the Draft Law for environment protection of Ses Salines in Eivissa and Formentera, and the passing to the Balearic Parliament.
The law declares the creation of the Park, called "Parc Natural de ses Salines d'Eivissa i Formentera", with an area of some 2.500 hectares of land and salt ponds with some 50 km2 of marine areas comprised in the municipalities of  Sant Josep de sa Talaia on the island of Eivissa and the island of Formentera, and their interior waters. More over, the Balearic Government passed initially on October 19 the Plan for the Natural Resources (PORN) of Ses Salines on Eivissa and Formentera, written by the Ministry of Environment, norm that complements the Law of environment Protection for Ses Salines of Eivissa and Formentera, at present going through the Balearic Parliament.
