Presentation of videos of the Archives of Image and Sound of the Consell

Last April 22, the President of the Consell, Pilar Costa, and the Councillor for Cultura, Fany Tur, presented the Arxiu d'Imatge i So, a new department of the Consell d'Eivissa i Formentera that has the objective of recovering of images and oral sources and to be a documental archive that complements any historic ethnographic or socio-economic investigation on the Pitiüses. The aim of the Consell is to condition the building Can Botino in Dalt Vila to place the archive at the disposal of investigators and the general public. On the other hand, the Arxiu d'Imatge i So will continue the process started two years ago of digitalising its funds to protect the originals.

The Arxiu d'Imatge i So of the Consell will also promote other activities, such as video production. In this connection, presentations of videos have been organised that started last April 25 with the projection in the Council Meeting Hall of the Consell of "Un forn de calç" (A lime kiln), a video that can also be seen in the Sala de Cultura Sa Nostra de Sant Francesc Xavier on Formentera on May 17.
