The "I Fira de la Ciència de les Illes Balears" will be held
in Palma from May 9 to 12, 2002. The place has not been decided but
the times are known: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The event, organised by the General Direction of R+D+I of the Council
for Innovation and Energy of the Balearic Government, aims to inform on
the scientific culture and research, present scientific activities that
are held in schools, research centres and businesses; and to show how science
influences the economic development.
The fair will occupy 1.500 m2 that will include some 60 stands.
The participation has been designed in four categories.
1. Teaching. Projects carried out by students in educational centres.
There will be prizes of 1.200 € for the participants to cover the
expenses of the experiment or activity presented and the transport costs.
2. University participants, pregraduate and postgraduate university
researchers, researchers from public research and technology centres of
the Balearics and museums.
3. Public administrations. Stands of the Balearic Government departments,
insular councils and town councils.
4. Stands of businesses and professional colleges.
