Next July 25 is the patron saint's day for Saint James, patron of the
island of Formentera. For this reason the
Formentera
Town Council has prepared a wide selection of activities that will
start on Friday, July 20 and will last until Sunday, July 29.
Amongst other interesting activities, one of the most outstanding is
the show that will take place on Saturday, July 21 at 9.30 p.m. in the
Plaça de Sant Francesc, with the performance by Ricballet-Friends,
with artists from the Ballet de Bourdeaux.
Also worth mentioning is the swimming crossing that will take place
on Sunday 22 as from 10 a.m. at S'Estany des Peix; and the concert Rock
& Lengua with the groups Quatre de Copes (Formentera), Whiskyn's
(Girona) and Els Pets (Girona).
On Wednesday July 25, Sant Jaume day, different sports activities will
be held in the morning, and the traditional Mass at the Sant Francesc
church. The programme will continue as from 7.30 p.m. in the Plaça
de Sant Francesc with the performance by the Mallorcan children's entertainment
group Dada Gugu; at 8.30 p.m. Dance with the Colles de Ball and the traditional
"Convit d'orelletes"; at 10 p.m. the Menorcan musical group S'Albaida.
The day will end with fireworks at midnight and the concert by the Barcelona
group Fundació Tony Manero.
On Sunday, July 29 the last activity of the programme for the Festes
de Sant Jaume will be the Table Tennis Championship that will take place
in the Sports Centre at 6 p.m.
