A concert by the Formentera Choir in the Sant Frances church will start
the Christmas programme organised by the
Town
Hall, on Friday 19 at 8.30 p.m. And on 23rd in the Town Hall Exhibition
hall the nativity scene carried out by the Formentera pupils will be opened.
The children will be the main protagonists of these festivities, as
the programme includes many activities for them. But there will also be
a good dose of music, as is usual in the Formentera festivities, plus theatre,
religious and traditional events. Within the religious ceremonies, special
attention must be paid to the Christmas Eve mass "Nit de Matines" that
will be held in the churches of three parishes on December 24. And
within the traditional events, the "tirada de galls" and folk dancing in
Cala Saona on December 26 as from 3 p.m.
The marquee where all the programmed activities will take place, such
as the New Year's Eve party, will be installed in the San Ferran schools.
Finally, as is usual, there will also be live music at the Fonda Pepe,
although this proposal is not included in the official programme, and as
a perfect finale for this long night it is usual to watch the first sun
rise of the year from the lighthouse on la Mola.
The complete programme of activities can be found in the
Catalan
version of the news.
