BalearWeb has finished the migration
of all the accounts of the email and web
free
service to a new Internet server. The accounts have been reactivated
with their original passwords. If any user has changed the password and
does not remember the original password he should contact
master@balearweb.com.
The new server has a Pentium 4 (1.6 GHz), 1 GB of RAM memory, 75 GB
of disc space and the Red Hat Linux 7.3 operating system, with a data transfer
rate of 100 mbps. Amongst other novelties, the server includes a new WebM@il,
the SquirrelMail, much more stable and quick than the one was used until
now. The new WebM@il features, amongst many other options, extended
language capabilities. As the programme has changed, users using the WebMa@il
should setup again their personal options and rewrite their email address.
As for the email and FTP services, the users do not have to do any change.
The new
control panel of the
service allows users modifying their password. But it does not allow configuring
a forward. Therefore users who want to redirect their address to another
mail box, should contact
master@balearweb.com.
Another novelty is that the users' disc quota has been increased from
15 to 20 MB. As from now, this is the amount of disc space for the web
pages and mailbox that the user will be assigned when they open a new account
in the server (additional space available free upon request).
BalearWeb apologises to users for the inconvenience caused these last
days during the migration process. More information:
master@balearweb.com.
Finally BalearWeb wants to publicly thank the help received during the
migration process from Josep Torrens, from
Bulma,
and Miquel Piulats, from
Softcatalà.
