The "Rutes per la Història", the programme of excursions organised
by the department of Culture of the Council of Eivissa and Formentera,
to introduce the Pitiusan historic and cultural heritage, will end their
activities this month. They will not start again until after the summer.
They have been taking place on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays (Fridays
on Formentera.)
Every Monday, at 4 p.m., there is an excursion round the Punic and Roman
remains at Ses Païsses in Cala d'Hort and the Phoenician town
of Sa Caleta. This trip starts at the Sa Caleta beach (es Bol Nou). On
Tuesdays the necropolis at Puig d'es Molins and the Molí d'es Porxet
windmill can be visited, in Eivissa, one of the flour mills that are left
in the city. The trip starts at 4 p.m. from es Soto. On Saturdays there
are visits to es Culleram, but these have already ended.
There are different programmes for schoolchildren, with routes round
Eivissa, Sant Llorenç, Cala d'Hort and sa Caleta and the Punic Sanctuary
Es Culleram (sa Cala de Sant Vicent).
On Formentera, since November excursions have been organised on the
last Friday of each month to the Sant Francesc church, to the
Ethnographic
Museum and the megalithic sepulture at Ca na Costa.
