More than 100 exhibitors from the Balearics at ITB Berlín 2000

On Saturday a new edition of the prestigious international tourist fair ITB was opened in Berlin. It is the main world tourist fair. ITB Berlin 2000 can be visited until March 15, and on Monday 13 and Tuesday, the entrance is reserved for professionals and businesses.

The president of the Balearic Government and the councillors for Tourism and Economy will have a busy working schedule as from the 13th within the programme of the ITB, where the islands are present on a stand coordinated by Ibatur.

The day at the ITB fair will start on Monday at 12.30 h with a visit to the stands of the over 100 exhibitors from the Balearics present at the fair. Later president Antich, the councillors Alomar and Mesquida and the mayors of Palma and Calvia, Joan Fageda and Margarita Najera respectively, will have an important private working meeting in the Hall 50 of the ICC building of the fair with the people responsible for 7 main German Tour Operators. During the meeting the president will expound to the Germans the new policy of the Govern and also the measures adopted to resolve topics such as water, urban waste, the beaches and the territorial planning.

In the afternoon, as from 4 p.m. the councillor for Tourism, Celestí Alomar, will have several interviews with the German media.

On the Monday, at 7 p.m. the traditional cocktail of the Balearics will be held for the whole Balearic and German tourist sector. This year it will be held at the Michael Schultz art gallery, the most prestigious in Berlin.

On Tuesday 14 there will be a working day with meetings open to the main German Tour Operators. The meetings will start at 10.15 a.m. with TUI and will continue until 1.30 p.m. with Neckermann, LTU, ITS, FTI and Alltours.
